For my birthday, I am going to celebrate with a few friends at a water park. Well, I need some ideas on what to pack when going to the water park. Pizza will be provided, but what about snacks and other foods? Any ideas on what to pack?
I will be going to Schlitterbahn where picnic items are welcome.

You should definitely bring some cans of soda, or water bottles. Something to keep you hydrated (and to wash down that pizza). Snacks, however…something small and light, like a granola bar, would be best. Hope that helps.

Question by Regular guy: Why were the Flight recorder boxes from the ditched US Airways plane stored in ice coolers filled with water?

while flipping through photos off the plane being removed from the Hudson the flight recorders were shown in ice chest full of water.
I was wondering for what reason they would be stored that way?

When they were recovered, they were already immersed in ice water, so they were stored that way to protect them from damage if air dried.
There is a certain way they must be handled, and dried or they run the risk of losing the recordings.

Most Polar Water companies use another company to build the coolers for them.Try to get the name of the company thats makes it there is usually a service tag in the back of the unit. If there is a service tag in the back then you can use the info of it in a search engine such as yahoo or google and you should be able to find something.If you can at least get the name of the company then you can do a search for the name of the company and pdf files which the manuals are usually placed on. Good Luck.

Does anybody know is it true that using the water cooler or AC is cheaper to use then useing fans and what time of the day is cheaper to use the washing machine and dryer??

Water coolers, refrigerators and AC systems work using air compressors to do a heat exchange cycle. Air compressors dissipate more power than regular fans and because of that, using fans is cheaper.

Since most of the power is used by homes and commercial buildings on daytime during the Summer (mostly because of the AC), electricity is cheaper during the night. Nonetheless, this only applies to buildings with ‘smart-meters’ since those are the only ones that can take real-time measurements. Conventional electric meters will only measure the total amount of energy consumed over a period of time and can’t tell whether you used the energy during the day or night. The way electric companies deal with these is by ‘guesstimating’ the consumption time for the type of building.

No, not all. It depends on the make and model of the unit. You can purchase external water filters at most any hardware or home supply outlet. They are easy to install as they tie in between the input to the cooler and thee regular water “feed” line
